Introduction:

At Strike, we understand the critical importance of data backups for our customers' servers. While we strive to provide reliable backup services, it is essential to note that backups are not guaranteed and can encounter failures or not be created due to unforeseen circumstances. To ensure transparency, this article outlines our backup policies, including storing duration, pricing for backup loading, and the customer's responsibility regarding their data backups.

Backup Creation: Ideally, backups are made for every server hosted at Strike on a nightly basis. However, due to various factors, we cannot guarantee that backups will be created for all servers every night. Customers should be aware that relying solely on our backup system may pose risks to their data.

Backup Storage Duration: We maintain backups for a limited period of time. Specifically, we store backups from the past three days, allowing customers to restore data from a recent point in time. In the event of server termination, we may retain backups for up to 60 days, subject to space availability. However, it's important to note that we reserve the right to delete older backups within this timeframe to free up space for the latest backups. We recommend customers to regularly create and securely store their own backups independently to ensure data redundancy and long-term availability.

Server Termination and Backup Retention: In the event of server termination, we retain the backups for up to 60 days, depending on available storage capacity. However, customers should be aware that backups might not be created or could be deleted after termination. Therefore, it is advisable for customers to take responsibility for creating their own backups and storing them securely to ensure data protection and availability.

Backup Loading Pricing: Under circumstances where backup loading is required due to reasons beyond Strike's responsibility, such as server hacks not caused by us or other issues, a one-time fee of 50% of the monthly server cost will be applied. For example, if a server costs €11 per month, the backup loading fee would amount to €5.50. This fee covers the restoration of data from the backup archives.

Non-Payment and Data Recovery: In cases where a customer's server has been deleted due to non-payment, and a backup of their data exists, Strike provides an opportunity to retrieve the data. The customer will need to renew the service with any applicable late fees and additionally pay the backup loading fee as outlined in point 4.

Customer Responsibility for Backups: While Strike offers backup services, we strongly advise and encourage customers to take responsibility for creating their own backups regularly. Relying solely on our backup system carries inherent risks, as backups can fail unexpectedly or not be created due to unforeseen circumstances. Creating and securely storing backups independently ensures an extra layer of protection and minimizes potential data loss.

Conclusion:

Strike strives to provide reliable backup services for our customers, but it's essential to note that backups are not guaranteed and can encounter failures or not be created in certain situations. Our backup storage duration is limited to three days, and in case of server termination, backups may be retained for up to 60 days, subject to space availability. However, we reserve the right to delete older backups within this timeframe. We emphasize the importance of customers taking proactive steps to create and securely store their own backups as an additional safeguard against potential data loss.
